Serendipity Raid Signup Policy (Updated for Ulduar) 5/3/2009This signup policy will be used for all Serendipity raids and will be implemented by all Serendipity raid leaders. On average, Serendipity raids will be posted 1-2 weeks in advance on the guild website calendar. This policy has been updated to reflect Ulduar raids.
WOTLK raids are different then previous WOW raids. In WOTLK, there are 10 and 25 man versions of each raid. Currently, Nax, Ulduar, EOE, Ony, VOA, and TOC raids are available with Ice Crown Citadel coming out soon. Here is a list of the current raids and Serendipity progression:
Nax - The guild has discontinued running Nax to concentrate on gear from Ony, VOA, and TOC. Members are encouraged to PUG these raids. People can gear up better from running heroics for Conquest badges, H TOC runs, and the daily heroic for Emblems.
Malygos - Will be run occasionally for titles and achievements.
Ulduar - Raiding 25 man in an alliance for decent gear. Beginning progression raids on 10 man to see how far we can go.
Ony - On farm status in 10 and 25 man, run weekly. Requires well geared toons.
VOA - On farm status in 10 and 25 man, run weekly on an ad hoc basis. Requires well geared toons.
10 TOC - On farm status, run weekly. Requires well geared toons.
25 TOC - Run weekly in an alliance with friend guild. Requires very well geared toons.
Serendipity Raid Sign Up Policy- Raid leaders will build a raid group that has a good chance to be successful. Main and alt toons can sign up as long as they are appropriately geared and members play them well. People will not be allowed to switch toons for specific fights unless requested by the raid leader.
- People who have participated in earlier runs of continuation raids will be given priority over people who just sign up for later bosses. This includes PUGS. Without this policy, it would make it much more difficult for raid leaders to find PUGS to join our raids. People should still sign up for each night they want to raid. This makes the raid leaders job easier.
- Serendipity guild members will have priority EXCEPT for 2 cases: when a PUG was in an earlier run of a continuation raid or if a particular class/role is needed and is not available from within the guild
- If you only sign up for a later night of a continuation raid, you will be put on a waiting list. If not enough people from the earlier runs are available you will be able to participate in the raid depending on space availability.
- The earlier a player signs up, increases the chance of getting in the raid but does not guarantee a person a place in the raid
- People who can participate for the entire raid will be given priority over people who can only show up late or can't stay for the whole raid.
Additional Raid Sign Up PoliciesSerendipity guild members who have attained the rank of Raider will have priority for the first 20 slots of a 25 man raid. A person will attain the rank of raider when they consistently raid with the guild 1-2 times per week.
YOU ARE GUARANTEED A SPOT IN THE RAID ONCE YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED. Only in very rare circumstances will this change. Plan on attending after you have been approved. If you can't attend after being approved, notify the raid leader by whisper or in game mail as soon as possible.
A person who consistently doesn't show up for raids and doesn't notify the raid leader will not be approved for raids. If you are going to be late please notify the raid leader as soon possible. Remember that raids involve many other people and it is not fair to keep them waiting. In general, raid leaders will put you on the waiting list if you can only show up late for a raid or you can't stay for the full duration of the raid.
If the raid is not full 30 minutes before the raid begins, the raid leader will ask guildies who are online if they would like to join the raid. Additionally, the raid leader can get non guild friends or PUGs to help fill out the raid.
AltsSerendipity guild members are encouraged to raid with alts that are also in the guild. Guild members with alts add flexibility and make it easier to complete a raid group. Serendipity raid leaders may ask a person to bring a specific alt to properly fill out a raid group. Only well geared toons are allowed in Serendipity progression raids unless the raid leader asks a player to switch toons. Serendipity guild members who have alts or mains outside the guild will be able to sign them up for Serendipity raids but they will have a lower priority than toons inside the guild.
Progression RaidsSerendipity will run progression raids as new raid content is released. The purpose of these raids will be to learn the strategies, class mix, and gear requirements needed to successfully raid the new dungeons. People in progression raids need to be prepared for multiple wipes while we discover the strategy required for each raid boss. Serendipity raid leaders will have the freedom to pick the group that will give them the highest chance of success for progression raids. It will be up to the discretion of the raid leaders and officers to determine who is qualified to participate in the more advanced raids. The most skilled and best geared players will be given priority to fill out these raids. Serendipity raid leaders and officers will work with anyone who wants to improve their skill level and gear to allow them to participate in the more advanced raids.
Non Guild MembersNon guild members will be allowed to sign up for 25 man raids. Serendipity members will be given priority except when a certain class/role is required and can't be filled from inside the guild. It is our hope when non guild members raid with Serendipity they will enjoy the experience and apply to become a member.
If you have any questions or comments, please talk to Praxis, Hericus, or one of the officers.
